Lifestyle | My 20th Birthday!

Hello lovelies

So if you haven't seen on my Instagram then last Thursday (11th August) was my 20th birthday. I had such a great day with my family as we spent the day down at Eastbourne which satisfied my beach craving!

We started the day off with my mum making us all a full english breakfast, which in our family is only made on special occasions. We then decided that we would head off to the beach for the day. Having got to Eastbourne around 12:30 we realised that the "Eastbourne Airbourne" show was on that day which gave us something to watch whilst there.

During our time on the beach I got to meet a couple that I watch on youtube named KrispySmore who were there for the day. they are a lovely couple and if you need any help when planning a trip to Florida or just want to watch peoples experiences out there then be sure to give their videos a watch.

For dinner we stopped at a gluten free greek restaurant called Gr/Eat. Their food was amazing and the portions were rather large so we were definitely full after a starter and main course! They are very good with the labelling of what is gluten free and what isn't so if you're looking for something to eat thats gluten free in Eastbourne be sure to give this restaurant a try. Before heading back to London we stopped off at the Marina to grab a drink or coffee and relax for an hour.

As for celebrating with my friends we went out Friday night to a local bar and then onto a nightclub nearby. I had a great night with them as well. I want to thank my family and friends for making my birthday special and letting me have two great days celebrating.

Travel | Beach Trips

Hello Lovelies

todays post is about my few recent trips to the beach. Now here in England it is very rare to get weather warm enough to go to the beach but these past couple of weeks the weather has been amazing. At the moment I don't have any plans to go abroad so I will just have to make do with the beaches here.

My first trip was about 3 weeks ago down to Broadstairs. A small group of my friends went down for the day when the weather was around 28 degrees so no need for us to away but we definitely needed sun cream! All in all it was a great day, there were few attempts to go in the sea and get everyone in which finally done around 4pm that day so it was getting a bit chilly by that point! Me and Chloe also managed to get some great photos from around the rock pools at that point, so thank you Chloe for these amazing photos!

The second trip was last week when myself and my mum took my nan down to Whistable for the day so we could celebrate her birthday. After parking up and walking around the shops for a bit we made our way down to the sea front. There is a little area where the beach huts are all used for small business. one we particularly enjoyed was Art to Eat which is a home made fudge company. We decided to but some fudge and I must say it was amazing.

The fudge before it got squashed in my mums bag! It still tasted amazing though!

We then carried on down the beach and decided that it was time to take a trip to Weatherspoons for lunch. Now me and my mum are both Coeliac's, we have both been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease for over 9 years now and I have to say that Weatherspoons has one of the best menus for people who suffer from this or any other types of gluten intolerance. Then the weather decided to perk up so it was back to the beach to sit there and enjoy the sun and have another photoshoot so thank you to my mum for getting these photos of me.

The time came to go home around 5pm so we picked up a drink before heading back and which point I managed to get these photos of the beach.

So guys if the weathers nice and you have nothing to do be sure to take a trip down to the beach because no matter who you're with you'll have fun and even you aren't going away this year at least you've gone to a beach!

Lifestyle | #GOMO

Hello lovelies

Todays post is all about #GOMO. Now what is GOMO you might ask? Well GOMO is Going Out More Often, a campaign started by Eventbrite.

I thought I'd share some of my plans with you that will help me with #GOMO. Starting off with next week myself and group of friends are taking a road trip down to the beach, now being in the UK the weather is rather unpredictable but we thought that there was no harm in going even for a few hours.

I am also planning a girls trip away for a week so we can catch some sun before we head back to university. This has been great fun planning with the girls, deciding on which country to visit and where to stay. Speaking of spending time with my girl friends, having girly days out has also been happening a lot recently. We've had shopping days looking for bikinis, going into London for designer sample sales and going out for lunch.

We have also had a group trip out to Thorpe Park and we picked the best day to go. If you are lucky enough to have finished school already or university or even if you can get a day off of work I would suggest going in the middle of the week before the schools break up. We managed to get on all of the rides we wanted to and even went on a few twice. It rained a little while we were there but we made the most of it and decided to go on a water ride as we were going to get wet anyway! There are plenty of offers on to get tickets for Thorpe Park and it's relatively easy to get to so why not have a fun day out!

A lot of my plans happen last minute so most weekends Ive been going out with a few friends for drink. However Ive been checking up on some events on the Eventbrite page and I have found an even that I would love to attend, it is the YPL summer party on the roof. This event you need to book in advance and through the eventbrite page. But the tickets on here are reasonably priced which is great for myself and my friends who as uni students struggle a little on the cash side.

Fashion | Where have I been & London

Hello lovelies

Its been a while since I've posted on here! Its been rather hectic the last few months with it being last term of uni and work.

From the end of Easter up until last week it was my last term at uni which means I have now completed my first year there, how exciting?! It was a rather stressful term with a hard brief entitled "When is a trouser not a trouser?". If you would like to view my final garment for the project and some more of my design work then feel free to check out my design Instagram "hannahdoughtydesign" and give me a follow to keep up with how thats going. Now that I am on summer break I plan on posting on here at least once a week if not more. I have a lot of exciting things coming up and I cant wait to share them with you, there are already two blog posts ready and waiting for next week.

To keep this post a little interesting and fashion related I thought I would tell you about a recent trip up to London that I had with a friend. The main reason we went was to check out a couple of sample sales one which was designer underwear, this was the most successful as we managed to get over 10 pieces of underwear from brands such as Stella McCartney and Heidi Klum for just £23 (when researching later one of the pieces we had bought retailed for £105 and we paid £6, bargain!).

The second sample sale was Quay Australia and Oh My Love. The deal for Oh My Love was 4 items for £20, which again was a bargain considering each piece usually retails between £40-50. I ended up purchasing 3 playsuits and dress for going out in the evening. I also purchased a pair of Quay Australia sunglasses for £10 in the style The Love Cats.

Fashion | Last few days of summer

Hello lovelies,

Here in England summer has officially ended and it's that time of the year when the weather can not make its mind up. Having to be up and out early for university it can be pretty cold in the morning, however by the time I have finished for the day it is normally a fair amount warmer. So, with that in mind I thought I would show you what I have been wearing on a day to day basis so I can combat both the cold weather in the morning and the warmer weather in the afternoon.

My red tops is from Primark. It's a great staple piece for this time of the year as the colour is still very summery, however the t-shirt cut gives a bit of warmth. Jeans are always a good piece of clothing for the beginning of Autumn because they are warm yet very stylish. Mine are from also from Primark. To keep warm on those days that are just a bit more chilly in the morning I opt for a leather jacket to wear over my top. I also always have an umbrella on me because we all know how quickly the weather can change here in England it will start to pour down with rain!

I also managed to get some time to be a kid all over again!

Fashion | Wicked! (ootd)

Hello lovelies

Yesterday I had the best surprise ever! I was taken up to London to see Wicked at the Apollo Theatre in Victoria. I have been wanting to see this show for ages (by ages I mean at least a year and a half). After grabbing dinner at Nandos we headed to the theatre and I managed to get a few photos. I also thought I'd show you what I wore for the evening (I did go for the more dressier side for the evening because what girl doesn't like to dress up?!).

Such an amazing birthday present!

Beauty | SS15 Beauty must haves Featuring Magnitone!

Hello lovelies

Todays post is about my Spring/Summer beauty must haves. I don't know about you, but in the summer my skin is a lot harder to look after because it is oily and acne prone. So I thought I would let you know my skincare and a few makeup must have for the summer that I use and few that are definitely on my wish list!

So to start of with is skin care, its all about having a good skincare routine otherwise you're just going to make your skin worse than it is.

I love the Garnier Micellar Water to remove the makeup and dirt on my face and it is perfect for getting rid of waterproof mascara and eyeliner. The next thing I love to use is a charcoal face mask once a week to really get rid of any dirt thats on my skin. For a moisturiser I use the 24 hour moisturising cream from Lidl, which all though its cheap it keeps my face hydrated without leaving it oily and breaking me out. For those of you who have acne prone skin I would highly recommend Silver Serum. Although it is a little more on the expensive side I can put a little bit on my face and the spots will either be gone or have reduced in size dramatically by the next morning!

The number one thing on my wish list for my skin is the Magnitone Eclipse. This product can be used on a daily basis and it has 3 different detachable heads so you can target any part of your body, which is great for seeing as I do get acne of my arms and back as well. It also has a brush head that is for exfoliating once a week with so you can get a really deep clean on the skin. After reading so many reviews I am hooked on this product and hope to be able to own one myself one day!

Moving onto makeup, and again this does change for me in the summer as I try to use less so I don't clog up my pores which would make me break out more.

The first thing is a foundation that is lightweight yet gives a good amount of coverage and for me, that is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation. Then I will use a very light amount of powder which is normally the MUA compact powder. I always use a bit of hoola bronzer and a very natural cream blush to make me more sun kissed and the MUA contour kit in light just to give me a more defined look. I am using the Soap and Glory's Thick and Fast mascara at the moment, however if I am to go in a swimming pool I do use a waterproof mascara.

There are two things on my makeup wish list and they are the Clinique Chubby sticks and the Real Techniques Bold Metals brush collection. I do apply my makeup with brushes and these are such gorgeous, well made brushes I adore them! I would love to own the clinque chubby sticks for contouring and highlighting, after reading reviews on them I would love to see how they work on my skin!

Fashion | Summer picnic!

Hello lovlies

Yesterday I went on a summer picnic with my University cheerleading team. This was a goodbye to some of our team as some have graduated, some are moving university to start their degree and our coach is pregnant so although it was sad to say goodbye it was a lovely to spend time with them all together before everyone goes their separate ways.

This was my outfit for the day. I felt that I needed to wear something comfortable and loose because the weather was warm and humid so being comfortable was a must! The top is from Primark, the shorts are a lightweight cotton material and are from Dorothy Perkins (they are on sale at the moment for £7 so go and grab a pair quickly!). My shoes and sunglasses are both from Primark.
